Timeless Passion Padel Tournament
Tournament overview
The tournament will be played in four groups with total up to 20 teams. Teams will be divided evenly in all four groups. Matches will be played on six courts with prepared schedule. Each team will play against every team one match from their group which guarantees three (3) or four (4) matches for every team depending on which group they belong. For every winning match the team will get 2 points. The best two teams with most points from each group will qualify to the quarter-finals knockout stage. In case there is a team with the same number of points there will be considered the number of winning games in all matches, and in case the number of games is still even the winner of the previous match between these two teams will qualify for the knockout tournament phase.
Tournament rules
All teams will have schedules attached near padel courts, and will see near timetables when their matches are or are expected to start/finish. The schedule can be slightly changed in cases that some matches prolong longer than expected or finish earlier than expected. For each match there is a planned timestamp of 30 minutes with warm ups, the timestamp is not strictly fixed but rather some overview of possible timelines. For each match there is a planned warmup for 10 mins maximum.
Because of the timestamps and number of courts some teams will play B2B matches meaning one after the other, in this case the warmup time can be used for slight rest.
During the tournament there will not be official judges so the playing teams will be their own referees. We kindly ask for fair play and honest decisions, we also ask spectators not to interfere with decisions and calls made from the team, only in cases a third opinion is requested from both teams the spectators can help in honest judgement.
Every match will be played on one winning set to 6 games. In cases of 40:40 Golden Point is played.
Tie Brake is played at 5:5!!!
After the match is finished please report the official results to one of the organizers so it can be systemized into tournament sheets.
After the group phase is finalized the best two teams from each group will qualify to the knockout phase. Same rules are applied to the knockout phase as in the group phase.
The possibility of prolonging the Final match to Best Of Three depends on the timeline when we will reach the Finals match.
Keep the rackets low on serves, keep your smashes strong and enjoy the games, we wait ready.
GAME, SET and MATCH.
Explanations:
GOLDEN POINT:
Golden point or Killer point is a way where on the first Deuce the defending team choses to which side the serve will be served, whoever WINs the point WINs also the game.
TIE BRAKE:
Tie Brake is the last game played in the SET. Instead of common counting points (15:00 | 30:00 | 40:00) the points are counted in numerical order ( 1:0 | 2:0 | 3:0 etc ). The first team to 7 wins if the result is 2 points apart for example 7:5. During tie brake the serves are swapped after first point and later after every 2 points.
